  • 1 (8 ounce) can of tomato sauce
  • 1 cup low-fat cheddar cheese or 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1⁄2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1⁄2 cup chopped onion
  • 1⁄2 cup water
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

Step 1

A Dutch oven can be used to cook the first four ingredients over medium-high heat, stirring until the meat has browned, then crumbling it.
