- 1 cup cooking oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

DIRECTIONS TO MAKE ROTI CANAI:
Step 1
Dissolve the salt in the water.
Step 2
Place the flour in a mixing bowl. Gradually add the salted water.
Step 3
Mix the flour and water to form a dough. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth, ensuring that the texture is not overly sticky or gooey.
Step 4
Lightly oil your hands with cooking oil and shape the dough into palm-sized balls.
Step 5
In a bowl, pour some oil to prevent the dough from sticking. Place the dough balls in the bowl, coating them with oil as you stack them on top of each other. Once all the balls are in the bowl, completely immerse them in oil. Leave overnight.
Step 6
Oil your kneading surface. Take out one dough ball and flatten it with your palms until it reaches the size of a dinner plate.
Step 7
Flip the dough like a pizza, following a flipping technique (refer to a link for guidance if needed).
Step 8
Flip the dough a few times and continue to spread it out until it becomes paper-thin.
Step 9
Take one edge of the dough and fold it towards the center. Repeat this process three more times to create a square shape.
Step 10
Grease a flat pan or skillet with cooking oil and cook the dough until it turns golden brown.
