Converting to PDF

Google Drive, which comes preinstalled on practically all Android devices, allows you to scan to PDF by default. If you don’t already have Google Drive on your smartphone, you can get it from Google Play.

Follow the instructions below to convert a document to PDF.

1. On your mobile device, open the Google Drive app.
2. A colourful + sign should appear in the lower right corner of the main screen. It should be tapped.
3. When the “Create New” menu appears, select “Scan” from the drop-down menu.
4. One method is to scan a document and convert it to a PDF. If you want to save some stuff for yourself or share it with others, this is a terrific option.
5. This will launch your camera application. Take a picture of the document you’d like to convert to PDF.
6. To obtain a preview of the image, tap the “Check” symbol.
7. At the bottom of the page, you should see a few alternatives. You can use these to make changes to the image. You can alter the image’s colour scheme to black and white or full colour, rotate it, and crop it.
8. If you’re not happy with how the shot turned out, hit the “Retry” symbol in the lower left corner to try again.
9. Tap “Save” when you’re happy with the outcome.
10. You can alter the file’s name using the next menu. Select the target folder and the Google Drive account you wish to save to. Please keep in mind that you will not be able to save the PDF on your phone in this manner. You can do it later by downloading it from Google Drive.
11. After you’ve finished preparing the file, tap “Save” to finish.

To get to the PDF, go to the app’s main screen and tap the folder icon in the lower right corner. Simply navigate to the file location you specified in step 8 to access your new PDF.
