- The feature is geared toward ladies in particular.
In India, Facebook has introduced a new safety option that allows users, particularly women, to restrict their profiles from non-friends.
Women who desire greater control over their Facebook experience may appreciate the possibility to lock their profiles.
Non-friends cannot zoom into, share, or download the user’s full-size profile picture or cover photo once the account is locked, and non-friends cannot access photos or posts on the locked account timeline (both historic and new).
“We understand the concerns that individuals in India, particularly women, have about their online profiles being protected. Today, we’re unveiling a new tool that will give users a lot more control, protect their privacy, and keep them safe and secure online in one simple step “In a statement, Facebook India’s Public Policy Director, Ankhi Das, said.
Users can apply numerous existing privacy settings as well as various new features to their Facebook page by locking it.
To utilize the feature, go to their Facebook profile and tap ‘More’ under their name, then pick ‘Lock Profile’ and tap again to confirm.
