How to Delete Your Google Gmail Account Forever.
To remove a Google Account and its associated services (Gmail, YouTube, Blogger, and so on) permanently, follow these steps:
- Go to the Google Account you want to remove and log in.
- Then, on the left side of your Google account home page, click Data & personalization.
- Click Download your data in the ‘Download, delete, or make a plan for your data’ area if you want to build a local backup of your Google data; otherwise, go to step 7.
- Click the Next step after selecting the Google data you wish to download.
- Click Create archive after selecting the Delivery method (Send download link through email, Add to Drive, Add to Dropbox, Add to OneDrive) and the backup file’s ‘File type’ (e.g. “.zip”).
- When the archive procedure is finished, Google will send you an email with the subject “Your Google data archive is ready.” To save the archive with your Google Data to your computer, open that email and select Download archive.
- Click Delete a service or your account under Data & personalization options.
- Then, to delete all of your Google data and services, select Delete your account.
* * Note: Click Delete a Google service if you wish to delete a specific Google service (for example, Gmail).
- Read the next screen carefully to understand what will happen if you remove your Google account. Then, to proceed, click the DELETE ACCOUNT option if you accept to lose all of your Google data as well as access to the specified Google services.
* Please note that deleting your Google Account will result in the following consequences:
- All of your Google information (emails, contacts, Google Drive files, and so on) will be deleted.
- The email address connected with the deleted Google Account will no longer be able to send or receive mail.
- You’ll lose access to all of the Google services linked to that Google account.
- If you use that Google account (email address) as the recovery email address for an alternative email address, you won’t be able to access that email address if you need it.
- You will lose access to your Google Account if you use it for any other service (bank, tax office, PayPal, etc.) will also be lost.
