How To Make Pasteles De Guayaba

INGREDIENTS
- 1 1⁄2 lbs guava paste
- 1 lb butter (softened)
- 1 lb cream cheese
- 1 lb flour
- sugar
DIRECTIONS
Step 1
Wrap in plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Mix cream cheese, butter, and flour until well blended.
Step 2
Heat the oven to 375°F.
Step 3
Slice the dough into 16-20 squares after rolling it out into a 1/4-inch thick square.
Step 4
Place one tablespoon of guava paste off center in each square.
Step 5
Press the edges shut after folding the dough over the guava paste.
Step 6
Sprinkle a thin layer of sugar over the cakes before placing them on a cookie sheet.
Step 7
About 25 minutes after baking, the cakes should be evenly browned.
