How To Make Low Salt / Sodium Low Fat Turkey Sloppy Joes

INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup of no-salt-added ketchup
- 1 lb. Lean ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon mustard powder
- 1⁄2 cup green pepper
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt substitute
- 2 jalapeno peppers
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2⁄3 cup onion
DIRECTIONS
Step 1
Jalapeno peppers should be seeded and diced.
Step 2
Green pepper and onion should be diced.
Step 3
Set aside onion, jalapenos, and green pepper after sautéing them in EVO.
Step 4
Make little crumbles of ground turkey and cook them.
Step 5
Return the water to the pan after draining.
Step 6
Add all ingredients to a pan over medium heat.
Step 7
For 3 to 5 minutes, stir the mixture.
Step 8
Simmer flavors for 5-10 minutes on low heat.
Step 9
Hamburger buns or crusty rolls can be used.
Step 10
If you don’t want your dish to be spicy, leave out the jalapeno. If you do, throw in 2 more.
Step 11
If desired, top with cheese and diced tomatoes or olives.
