How To Make Simple Savory Breakfast Casserole
INGREDIENTS TO MAKE SIMPLE SAVORY BREAKFAST CASSEROLE
- 10 eggs
- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard
- 3 cups milk
- 6 cups bread, cubed
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese or Colby-Monterey jack cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS TO MAKE SIMPLE SAVORY BREAKFAST CASSEROLE
Step 1
Heat the oven to 325°F.
Step 2
Follow the instructions on the package when cooking the breakfast sausage. Drain and crumble.
Step 3
Combine the eggs, milk, mustard, pepper, and salt in a large bowl. Thoroughly mix.
Step 4
Grease a 9 x 13 casserole dish and lay half the bread cubes on the bottom.
Step 5
As well as half of the optional ingredients if you wish, add half of the cheese and sausage to the casserole dish.
Step 6
If you are using optional ingredients, repeat layers of bread, cheese, sausage, and optional ingredients.
Step 7
The casserole should be topped with the egg mixture.
Step 8
The eggs should be set after about an hour of baking. If the top browns too quickly, you can cover it with foil.
