Many children and teenagers aspire to join the NCC and serve their country. The NCC gives possibilities for all-around growth and a sense of duty to the country’s youth.
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) contributes to the nation-building process. The NCC exposes cadets to a variety of activities, with a particular focus on Social Services, Discipline, and Adventure Training.
Voluntarily, all regular students in schools and colleges can join the NCC. Active military service carries no risk for the pupils. NCC has a minimum age requirement of 13 years and a maximum age requirement of 26 years.
How to Become an NCC Member
- A student interested in joining the Senior Division should submit an application to the Officer Commanding of the nearest NCC Unit, while a student interested in joining the Junior Division should submit an application to the school’s Headmaster/Principal on the specified form.
- There is a provision for students from educational institutions that are not classified as NCC sub-units who want to join NCC. For more information on the ‘Open Category’ provision, the student should contact the Commanding Officer of the nearest NCC Unit.
Activities in NCC are categorized as under:
- Institutional Training
- Camp Training
- Attachment Training (Service Unit)
- Airwing Training
- Naval wing Training
- Social Service and Community Development Activities.
- Youth Exchange Program
- Conduct of Republic Day Camp
- Conduct of course at OTA Kamptee and OTA Gwalior for ANO’s.

Because NCC is a part of the educational curriculum, the Principal/Headmaster and Commanding Officer have major responsibility.
