How do you steal and see your saved router password is the most popular question I get. It’s funny how many people forget their WiFi passwords and believe me, I’ve been there. When you look for ways to see hidden passwords on your phone, you’ll only find options for rooted phones. Fortunately, some various apps and solutions might help us recover those saved wifi passwords on Android smartphones. Hackers can use this approach to view WiFi credentials and easily hack wifi passwords using this way. All you need is a basic understanding of how WiFi works and how to set it up.
Without Rooting, How to Find Wifi Password on Android
You may use a variety of programs on rooted devices to crack wifi passwords, even if the WiFi is your own. Finding wifi passwords on non-root devices, however, is more difficult. We’ve discovered three viable options.
Method1: The Wifi Password Share Method.
This method works on practically all smartphones with proprietary operating systems, including MI, Oppo, Oneplus, and others. It’s very effective with Xiaomi phones. You must be connected to the wifi network for this method to operate.
Step 1: Go to the WiFi section of your Android phone’s settings, as shown below.
Step 2: If you haven’t already, connect your phone to the WiFi network.
Step 3:After connecting your device to the wifi network, you’ll get an option to share the password, as seen in the image below.
Step 4: Select the shared password option to generate a QR code.
Step 5: Take a screenshot of the QR code and then go to the Google Play Store to get a QR reader app. The MI scanner app can be used directly on Mi phones.
Step 6: Scan the code to reveal the wifi password, which is shown below. You can find the wifi password without having to root your device using this simple method.
Method 2: Android Debugging
This is a rather technical procedure that, if followed correctly, works extremely effectively. This procedure requires the use of a computer. As long as your phone has connected to the wifi at least once, this approach can retrieve any wifi password. The wifi network does not require an active wifi connection.
Step 1: Go to phone settings and tap the build number 5-7 times till a message appears that says, “You are now a developer.”
Step 2: Next, go to Android developer settings and enable USB debugging as seen below:
Step 3: Now you must install the bare minimum of ADB drivers on your computer. The ADB Drivers can be downloaded via the link below.
Step 4: Open the app via the desktop shortcut once the drivers have been installed successfully.
Step 5: Use a USB cord to connect your device to the computer and test the ADB connection. If you’re connecting for the first time, a window will appear asking for permission to use your mobile device. Allow should be selected.
Step 6: Type adb services into the command prompt window and click enter. You should see a device on this list if it’s working properly, as demonstrated in the image below:
Step 7: Go to the wpa_supplicant file on your Android smartphone to discover the wifi password. Type the following command to open the file:
adb pull /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf c:/wpa_supplicant.conf.
This command will copy the wifi passwords saved on your Android device to the system’s local disc C: drive.
Step 8: Now open the passwords file in a text editor. All of the passwords are listed below:
You now know how to recover wifi passwords without rooting your Android handset.
Method 3: Router Access Method
This method, like the previous, requires you to be connected to the internet in order to work. This approach is compatible with both Android and PCs.
Step 1: Locate your entry point.
Step 2: Open your Android browser and type in the gateway URL.
Step 3: Now insert your router’s username and password. The admin username and password are used on most devices. To obtain the default router password for your wifi, google your wifi model number.
Step 4: After you’ve logged in, go to the wifi settings and double-check the password. From here, you can quickly retrieve your password.
Step 5: What if you created a router password but have since forgotten it? So, in order to access your router settings, you’ll need to restart your router. If you simply hit the router reset button and type in a new password, the router will be reset. That way, you’ll be able to regain access to your WiFi without having to remember your old password.
