It’s also possible to claim that 44 squares out of a hundred are shaded. When the denominator of a fraction is 100, we call it a percentage. 44/100 can be referred to as 44%. Percent refers to one-hundredth of a percent, whereas ascent refers to one-hundredth of a percent. It’s safe to claim that 44% of the squares are shaded.
