As you all know Aadhaar is the most significant identity proof and address proof for Indian citizens. It is a unique 12 digit number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India. By taking a person’s biometric details like fingerprints, eye scan, and demographic details such as Date of birth and address. This is mandatory for every Indian citizen irrespective of age. Which means children and new born also require an Aadhaar card. It is known as Baal Aadhaar and it is an interesting blue color. Aadhaar cards are necessary because many documentation processes prefer an Aadhaar card as proof whether it’s opening a bank account or booking a traffic ticket. The procedure for enrolling a child’s Aadhaar is slightly different from that of an adult. The child’s birth certificate and one of the parent’s Aadhaar are required for the child’s Aadhaar card. In case the child is below 5 years, biometric information is not captured instead the demographic information and photograph link to the parent’s new ID will be recorded. However the biometric of 10 fingers, eye, and facial photographs must be updated once they turn5 and 15 years. This will be mentioned in the Aadhaar letter provided to you. Now, let’s take a look at the steps to apply to Aadhaar for children below 5 years.
Step 1. Visit your nearest Aadhaar card enrolment centre.
Sep 2. Fill the form given by mentioning the Aadhaar number of one of the parents.
Step 3. Fill in the address and remaining demographic details according to parents’ Aadhaar card.
Step 4. Submit the child’s birth certificate.
Step 5. The child’s photograph will be taken.
Step 6. The enrollment center executives will handle an acknowledgment slip that contains the enrollment number using which a series of Aadhaar can be checked.
