How To Make Grandma B’s Super Waffles
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sour milk or 2 cups buttermilk
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 3⁄4 cup melted margarine or 3/4 cup salad oil
- 4 eggs, well beaten
Note: If you don’t have sour milk or buttermilk, add two tablespoons of vinegar to your two-cup measuring cup, then fill it up with sweet milk to the mark. Set the cup aside while you prepare the remaining ingredients.
Together, sift: 2 cups of general-purpose flour baking powder, 3 tablespoons, one tablespoon of baking soda and a single salt tsp.
Combine: 2 cups of buttermilk or sour milk and 4 well-beaten eggs With a hand mixer or an electric mixer running on high speed, combine the milk and eggs with the dry ingredients and beat until smooth.
Add 3/4 cup of melted margarine or salad oil and stir.
Bake in a waffle maker that has been warmed until crisp and golden. 2 cups of batter for a large maker, 1 cup for a tiny maker.
Serve with your preferred garnishes.
