How to Feel More Empowered as a Woman

Self-doubt and feelings of inadequacy have plagued us all at one point or another. It is easy to feel powerless, unmotivated, and hopeless when we experience these feelings. Although we all feel this way sometimes, there are numerous ways to get out of that slump and feel more empowered.

Empower yourself

It’s common for our self-esteem and confidence to suffer when we’re overwhelmed or emotionally depleted. Sometimes, life throws us challenges that can make us think more negatively and feel less capable of handling them. You might want to think about what you would say to a friend if you faced these negative emotions and found yourself being self-critical. You often give better advice to others than to yourself. Be kind to yourself and think about your strengths.

Self-care for women

Despite the importance of self-care, many people view it as something to indulge in or something to do when they’re free. You are best served by taking care of yourself first. Having a hard time being there for friends and family when you are exhausted and overwhelmed will make it even harder. Overworking ourselves isn’t helpful and is ultimately unproductive, particularly since so many people now work from home, so working late is not helpful or is difficult.

  • We recommend you try some guided meditation on YouTube or breathing exercises to practice mindful living.
  • You’ve been meaning to watch that show for a long time, so you sit on your couch and watch it
  • Take a big bubble bath and lock the door

Sleep and stress

At the end of the day, it can be difficult to “switch off” when life is particularly stressful. It is common to still have a lot to do at home in the evening. There is no doubt that technology plays a major part in this, whether you constantly check your email, take work calls outside of business hours, or update your Facebook status, chances are you’re experiencing ‘smartphone overload’. A survey by Rescue Remedy® found that 73% of people experience stress and sleeplessness at least once a week as a result of 24/7 connected lives and balancing life’s increasing pressures. In addition to repetitive thoughts, restlessness, and vivid or disturbing dreams, stress can also make you feel anxious. You might feel more stressed the next day if you don’t sleep, then you will feel more stressed the next day if you don’t sleep.

Here are some exercises you can do before you go to sleep if you’re feeling particularly tense or struggling to cope:

  • Inhale deeply and raise your shoulders toward your ears for just a few seconds. Hold the shoulders raised for as long as you can, then exhale slowly by lowering your shoulders down. Several times should be repeated.
  • Using both hands, press slowly circular pressures from the base of your skull to the base of your neck with the fingers of both hands.
  • Relax your facial muscles by closing your eyes. Keep your eye muscles, jaw, and forehead in mind. Slowly massage the temples with the fingers of both hands. Repetition is recommended.
  • In the final step, cup your hands over your eyes for a few seconds and hold them there for a few more. The face feels less tight and tension is released as a result.

Reduce stress

Stress and tension can be relieved in a variety of practical ways, but keeping a positive mindset is one.

  • Choose calming scents such as lavender, lemon balm, or chamomile to relax and relieve tension. Take a hot bath, read a book, or light a candle.
  • A good way to relieve tension is to write down your worries and thoughts for the next day, along with your daily to-do lists. Your career, friends, family, and health can also be listed as things you are grateful for. Reflecting on the positives in your life will help you feel more positive.
  • We can feel happier if we practice meditation, and our bodies can be relaxed if we meditate. Focusing on your breath is the first step in the art of meditation. While inhaling deeply, expand your body as you exhale slowly. The idea of living in the moment comes from focusing on your body rather than the distractions around you.
  • Relax your body by listening to soothing music. Stress hormones and blood pressure are reduced when instrumental sounds are played at a slow tempo.

Stress relief and exercise

Maintaining an active lifestyle can improve your emotional well-being, motivate you, and energize you. Emotional strength makes us feel energetic, and exercise releases feel-good chemicals called endorphins, which often have a positive impact on our mood. Serotonin, also known as the happy hormone, is also produced when you exercise. In some cases, however, exercising with dread and stress can be your only option. So, finding a hobby you love is vital to make it feel less like another task added to your to-do list. It’s crucial to find something you enjoy, but also something that won’t overwhelm you.
