How To Make Easy Breakfast Bake
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1⁄2 lb pork sausage
- 1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 1⁄4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
- 3⁄4 cup quick-cooking grits
- 4 large eggs
Using a spatula, brown sausage in a heavy skillet.
Put aside fat that has been drained off.
The grits need to be boiled in salted water and then stirred in.
Continually stir while cooking for 5 more minutes, covered.
Stir flour, pepper, and milk into melted butter in a medium saucepan.
Mix cheese with the sauce and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Cooked grits should be topped with half the cheese sauce and the sausage.
Using a large serving spoon, make four indentions in grits with the mixture in a lightly greased casserole.
Each indentation should be filled with an egg.
Eggs should be done in 15 to 18 minutes at 325°.
For grits and eggs, reheat the remaining cheese sauce.
