How To Make California Rollwich For Kids
INGREDIENTS
- 1 flour tortillas (10 inches) or 1 pita bread
- 1 slice cheese, cut into strips
- 2 ounces sliced turkey or 2 ounces ham, thin deli slices
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons romaine lettuce, shredded
AVOCADO
- 1 dash lemon juice or 1 dash lime juice
- 1 small avocado
- 1 tablespoon green pepper, diced (optional)
- 1⁄4 cup fresh tomato, diced
- 2 tablespoons carrots
DIRECTIONS
AVOCADO SPREAD:
- Mash the avocado flesh with lemon or lime juice and a dash of salt.
- The optional vegetables should be mixed in with the diced tomatoes.
- Set aside.
ROLLWICH:
- Leave at least 1/2 inch of space around the edges of the tortilla or pita when spreading mayonnaise.
- Mayonnaise should be spread over the avocado spread.
- Shredded lettuce should be added to the spread.
- On top of the topping, place slices of turkey or ham (leaving room on one edge to roll them).
- Along the middle, add strips of cheese.
- A tortilla wrap should be carefully rolled.
- Divide the piece into two.
